Bible Stories for Kids

It can never be too early to begin a child’s relationship with God.  For hundreds of years, the Bible was the principal book in the family home.  Generations of children grew up listening to scripture and learning about the faith of their fathers and how God loves and interacts with his children.  Below are some of the more popular bible books that are geared for young readers.

Finding a book that fits the exact need for a child’s age range and interest is easy.  There are board books that explain in simple terms the stories in the bible.  These books are a wonderful introduction to spiritual living.  There are also wonderful treasuries of bible stories that start with Genesis and end in Revelation.  They contain many biblical accounts that can be read quickly before bed or any time.

We also have a good number of Children’s illustrated bibles.  These are made primarily for more proficient readers who will take the book from the shelf and read on their own.

No matter the need.  The important part of buying a bible-based book for children is to communicate biblical knowledge and create a sound foundation for a lifetime of love for the greatest book ever written.

We always suggest buying several types of bible story books:  One for together reading, one for family reading and a third that a child can read on his or her own.  Providing a variety of books will allow a child to learn in different venues.  Building familiarity with the bible at a young age will make it such that once a child reaches teen years, he or she will study and use the bible–without the pictures and simplified text.
