The Common Theme

Children’s books tend to focus around a central theme. Whether it’s a Curious George book that talks about the importance of friendship, or a Doctor Suess book that explores the concept of environmental awareness. The point of children’s books is to explain basic, yet very important life lessons that will stick with them forever.

Children’s books introduce new ideas to children in a way that they can easily accept and understand. The Berenstein Bears books explore many different concepts, from why siblings should get along to respecting your parents. It can be difficult sometimes to properly express these concepts to your children. By introducing your children to these concepts through books, they not only learn valuable life lessons, but also get a jump-start on skills that they will use for the rest of their lives.

It’s never too early to start reading to your children. The sooner your start reading to your kids, the sooner they will be reading on their own. It doesn’t matter what you read to them, as long as you are spending time with them and helping to guide them on their lifelong path of learning. Whether it’s Charlotte’s Web, Huckleberry Finn, or your favorite book from your childhood, you kids will appreciate it!
