Overview
When fiery, red-haired Mary Slessor (1848-1915) left her home in Scotland and boldly went to live among the unreached tribes of Africa’s Calabar region, she brought with her the kindness, peace, and justice of her God. Fearing God and nothing else, Mary became the cherished “White Ma” to entire tribes of people others were afraid of. Whether teaching school, nursing the sick, or rescuing those in danger, Mary showed others the life and freedom found in Jesus.
