Shaker farmers built circular barns so that the devil could not hide in the corners. In the Barn uses full-color pictures to show how the barn was the center of activity on a busy settler farm. Different kinds of barns are clearly detailed from the English and bank style barns in wooded areas to the sod barns of the western prairies.
