Who can do a book fair?


Any organization can do a book fair; PTAs, PTOs, schools, grade levels, individual classrooms, church groups, sports teams-you get the picture.

What if I already do book fairs with Scholastic?


No problem. We sell more than 3,500 books from Scholastic
and more than 210,000 books from other publishers. An online book fair offers an unmatched selection of books and a convenient buying experience. There’s no reason why you can’t do both conventional and online book fairs.

Do I need to be a tax-exempt or non-profit organization to do a book fair?


No you do not need to be tax-exempt, non-profit, etc. to do an online book fair.

How much does it cost?


Signing up for an online book fair is free. There are no required fees and there are no minimum purchase requirements.

How much will I earn?


You earn 25% of every book purchase during an active book fair and 15% of every book purchase outside of an active book fair. Every book on the website is eligible for a book fair.

Customers can see how much of their book order is going to the host organization on their receipt and you can see how much you’ve earned in real time on the fundraising dashboard.

How long will my book fair last?


Your book fair can last 7 to 14 days. You select the start date and length of your book fair each time you schedule a book fair.

How many book fairs can I carry out?


Online book fairs must be at least 90 days apart. This means you can carry out a maximum of 5 online book fairs per year.

Can I customize my book fair?


Yes, it’s simple to build a beautiful book fair home page. You can add your school or other logo, a special note from the organizer of the fair, create recommended book lists and wish lists to display on your book fair home page.

Can I promote my book fair on Facebook, Twitter and my own website?


Yes! Please promote your book fair on as many platforms as possible. The more you spread the word, the more you will earn.

How will you help me promote my book fair?


We have a library of pre-written emails you can send to your email list, suggested messages you can send through social media and printable fliers that can be distributed. We will send you easy-to-follow steps that make it simple to have a successful fair.

When and how will I be paid?


You can see how much you’re earning in real time on your fundraising dashboard. When you’re ready to be paid, click “Request Payment” on the dashboard. You can receive your earnings either as a check in the mail, or in-store credit.

We’ll mail you a check within five business if you select to be paid via check. If you select in-store credit, you will receive a coupon code within 24 hours. The coupon can be used over multiple orders until it’s exhausted and you receive 20% off list prices when you use in-store credit.

How will I manage my book fair?


You will have access to a Book Fair Management page at bookfair.org. The page will contain the tools to manage every aspect of your account. You can edit your account, book fair home page and schedule book fairs on your Book Fair Management page.

Can I continue making money after my book fair?

Yes, you can make money every day of the year. You will earn 25% during active book fairs and 15% between active book fairs.

It’s a great ideal to post a link to your book fair page on your organization website so you can earn money all the time.

How much does shipping cost?

All customers have shipping options through the USPS and UPS. We ship books the same or next business day.

The least expensive shipping option that delivers books to the home is Media Mail. The price is $4.05 for the first book and $1.05 for each additional book. Media Mail takes 8 to 14 business days to arrive.

UPS Ground is 3 to 6 days, Next-Day Air and 2nd Day Air are two and one day respectively.

A book fair organizer has the option to offer a discounted, combined shipping option for their book fair. It is called “Book Fair” shipping. The cost is $2.00 for the first book and $.80 for each additional book. Customers who select this shipping option will have their book order bundled with other orders and shipped to the organization address at the conclusion of the fair. A book fair organizer will need to sort book orders and deliver to individual customers.
