Sticker Books
Materials Needed
Directions
Reward children's reading with an array of colorful stickers -- one for short books, two for longer ones if you like. The children collect their stickers in booklets they can later redeem for prizes.
Fold a standard 8 x 11 piece of paper in half from top to bottom, then in half across to make a booklet like the ones supermarkets provide for trading stamps. Cut the pages apart at the bottom. With ruler and pen, divide each page of the booklet into six boxes. A sticker should fit in each section.
After your children read enough books to fill their booklets with bright stickers, they can redeem them for a still bigger reward -- a new book, another big bunch of stickers if a child is really crazy about them, or a special privilege, like having a sleepover party or going on an outing.
