Sounds on the Farm

Materials Needed

Farm animals template (can be found online and printed out), card stock or construction paper, crayons, glue, yarn, a hole puncher

Directions

After reading a story about animals, encourage the child to learn new words and sounds with this fun activity.

1.␣Cut out the pictures of farm animals from the template and glue them on a separate piece of card stock or construction paper. You may also want to look for pictures of animals in magazines.␣␣

2.␣Let the children color the farm animals. ␣␣

3.␣Punch holes in the pages and tie them together with yarn or string.␣␣

4.␣After you read an animal story to the infant, point to the animals in your booklet. Say the animal’s name and the sound it makes. Encourage the infant to imitate the sounds.
