Many books came out this year that are sure to become our children’s new favorites.  In picture books and chapter books alike many great stories were told and retold.  Rand Burkett retells the ancient fable of Mouse and Lion.  Jerry Pinkney adds a twist to the classic lullaby Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.  Stories are told of the African Americans in America, making friends in a new neighborhood, the experiences of a refugee, and tales that weave through time.
