What books did you give?

Tags: gifts

So, tell me. What children's books did you give this year for Christmas/Hanukkah? I'm curious. Post a comment.

New Years Resolutions

I must confess I love New Years Resolutions. It seems like a perfect time to regroup and recommit. Here are five resolutions for parents and grandparents to work on in the coming year:

Favorite holiday books

Even though my kids are grown, I still have the canvas tote where I have stowed the Christmas books that we read aloud over the years.

Best Books 2008

Last week I mentioned the School Library Journal’s Best Books list.

The most wonderful time of the year

I LOVE this time of year. The “best books of the year” season. This is when EVERYONE makes their lists, and the handicapping for the big awards, Newbery, Caldecott, etc. begins in earnest.

Another great website

I came across www.readkiddoread.com yesterday. The bestselling author James Patterson has created a wonderful site for finding great reads for kids. In his words:

Granparent story time

Yesterday at the library, I presented a preschool story time with a “grandparents” theme.
Grandmas and Grandpas were our special guests.

Thanksgiving books

I was perusing the staff recommendations from the front page of this site, and thought of one more book to add to the Thanksgiving book list: FEELING THANKFUL by Shelley Rotner.

Introduction

I am very excited to be part of the "blog team" at Children's Bookstore.
